How to Wear White

If you are a mum like me, the thought of wearing white might fill you with horror. But my tip of keeping white dresses or outfits looking fresh all day is to choose a good fabric which works for what you plan to do that day. If you are going to be sitting for long time periods, avoid linen (unless you want that crumpled/I don’t have an iron look)! Floaty fabrics which have a texture will hide a lot of wrinkles, or may not wrinkle at all.

Take a cardigan or shawl with you, very useful when eating. This will protect you from all but the worst food-based mishaps.

To keep your whites white, follow the washing or dry-cleaning instructions. Do not add bleach to make your white’s white.

When hanging or storing white clothes, be careful not to store them next to colourful items, or clothing which sheds particles. This will avoid colour contamination during storage. I hang all my whites together, with a dry cleaning bag separating the other items.
